Kim Kardashian was born in Los Angeles, California to attorney Robert Kardashian and mother Kris Houghton Jenner. Her father became a household when he defended O.J. Simpson during his murder trial. Kris and Robert divorced in 1989 and she married Olympic champion Bruce Jenner in 1991.

Kim has a large family consisting of two sisters, Kourtney and Khloe and one brother Robert. She has 3 stepbrothers: Burton, Brandon and Brody Jenner and a stepsister, Casey. She also has two half-sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner.

Kardashian is mainly known for her socialite status and hanging out with other famous people. She started to become more of a household name after the reality series starring her and her family, "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" began airing on E!

Her acting career has been limited, with her starring in the music video for Fall Out Boy for the hit single "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs" as the female lead. In 2008, she starred in the spoof comedy "Disaster Movie" alongside Carmen Electra and Vanessa Minnillo, receiving terrible reviews and poor success at the box office.

Other reality stints include season seven of "Dancing with the Stars," where she danced with DWTS Champion Mark Ballas. She was the third celebrity contestant voted off in the season. She has made several television appearances including "The Simple Life," "Beyond the Break," "Sunset Tan" and "Celebrity Family Feud."

In 2008, Kardashian released a workout DVD titled "Workout with Kim Kardashian" along with a set of workout cards. She has recently stated that she will be releasing her own perfume line sometime in 2009.

Kardashian became a popular target in the tabloids after a sex tape scandal unfolded in 2007. The stolen video was made with her ex-boyfriend, singer Ray J and was distributed by Vivid Entertainment. She later sued the company, but settled out of court for $5 million.

She has recently confirmed that she will be taking on the role of Summer Even in the film titled "Deep in the Valley" to be released in 2009.

In 2000, Kardashian married music producer Damon Thomas, but the two later divorced in 2004. She is currently dating football star Reggie Bush.
