Robert Thomas-Pattinson is a British actor, model and musician. He began his acting career as an amateur in the Barnes Theatre Company, initially working backstage and then deciding to take on some acting roles. During the theatre's production of Tess of the D'Urbervilles, an acting agent noticed Pattinson and he began seeking professional roles.

He continued to perform in amateur theater for Macbeth at the Old Sorting Office Arts Centre, while also doing some modeling.

In 2004, he gained a supporting role in the made for TV movie Ring of the Nibelungs and then again in Mira Nair's Vanity Fair.

In 2005, he gained his first major role as Cedric Diggory in the film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Shortly after, he was named the British Star of Tomorrow by Times Online. He went on to play his character again in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

His modeling career expanded when he was featured in the advertising campaign for the British clothing store Hackett's Autumn 2007 collection.

Pattinson has several major upcoming roles in the films Little Ashes, playing Salvador Dali and playing Edward Cullen in Stephenie Meyer's novel turned movie, Twilight. He can also be seen in the independent British comedy and short film, The Summerhouse.
