Tom Bergeron is a game show host who began his career hosting popular shows in the 80's. He began his broadcasting career in high school working as a DJ at a local radio station in his home town and eventually working his way to other stations to become a popular and well-liked radio presence. This eventually landed Bergeron TV and other radio auditions.

His first gig as a television game host began with Granite State Challenge, a local game show. He made his way to Boston and joined WBZ-TV as an on-air personality doing features such as preview segments, daytime lineups, lottery drawings, eventually replacing the early afternoon talk show. He became a well-known public figure in Boston and then acquired his own early-morning radio show called "The Tom Bergeron Show" while continuing to work as a commentator for WBZ-TV.

Bergeron left the station in 1994 after being hired by the new FX cable network to host "Breakfast Time," a morning talk show. The show became so popular that is was picked up by Fox Broadcasting Company two years later, where it ran for one year as "Fox After Breakfast."

After leaving Fox, Bergeron took a guest host position with Good Morning America for a short while. In 1998, he started with Hollywood Squares as a host, eventually being nominated for 5 Emmys in 2000, eventually winning one. In 2001, he also started hosting "America's Funniest Home Videos." Hollywood Squares ended in 2004, but he continued to host "AFHV" and went on to host the Miss America Pageant.

Bergeron also began to take on some guest role in various television series including "Star Trek: Enterprise" and "The Nanny." In 2005, he took the job as host for ABC's "Dancing with the Stars." The show gained worldwide popularity and proved to be a hit.

Bergeron is married to wife Lois and has two daughters. He splits his time between Los Angeles and Greenwich, CT. He is also active in the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Association and was voted in a national vice president of the association in 2006.
