Will Ferrell was born on July 16, 1967 in Irvine, California to Lee and Kay Ferrell. After graduating from University High School, Ferrell attended the University of Southern California, earning a degree in Sports Information. Upon his graduation from the University of Southern California in 1990, the comedian joined the comedy group The Groundlings, to hone his improvisational skills.

Ferrell joined the cast of Saturday Night Live in 1995. In his seven year run, which ended in 2002, Ferrell created many well known and loved characters including his takes on President George W. Bush and Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy.

During his run on Saturday Nigh Live, Ferrell appeared in several movies including Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, A Night at the Roxbury, and Zoolander.

In 2003, Ferrell starred in his first movie since leaving Saturday Night Live, entitled Old School. The actor embodied the movies main character, Frank "The Tank" Ricard and Old School became a major success at the box office.

In the next few years, Ferrell had one hit after another with movies such as Elf, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. Ferrell also starred with Jon Heder in the 2007 comedy Blades of Glory about a pro ice-skating duo.

Currently, Ferrell is starring with John C. Riley in Step Brothers, which has made over 80 million dollars in theaters to date. Ferrell is married to Swedish Actress Viveca Paulin. The couple have two children, Magnus and Mattias.
