Reese Witherspoon And Ryan Phillippe Split

The Oscar-winning actress and the 'Crash' actor had their status as a married couple terminated last Friday (05.10.07), leaving them free to marry other people.

Reese filed for divorce last November, after seven years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.

The former couple - who starred in 1999's 'Cruel Intentions' together - met at Reese's 21st birthday party in 1997 and married two years later.

Reese, who is said to be romantically involved with her 'Rendition' co-star Jake Gyllenhaal recently spoke of the emotional breakdown she suffered after her marriage ended.

"Right around Christmas time I was sitting in a parking lot and I felt like I just couldn't get out of the car. It was like, 'I can't get out of the car.'” she said.

However, the couple are still to settle their finances and the custody arrangements of their two children, Ava, eight, and three-year-old Deacon.
