Teri Hatcher Fights Back In Hydroderm Lawsuit

December 7, 2007 05:45 am CST

Desperate housewife Teri Hatcher is not that desperate to settle. She's fighting back on charges made by skin care company Hydroderm.

In a response to the suit filed by Hydroderm this week, the 42-year-old actress says she has "done absolutely nothing wrong" in her endorsement deal with the company.

"Contrary to the wild and unsupportable allegations of [Hydroderm], Ms. Hatcher has not entered into agreements with any other cosmetics or skincare companies."

L.A. Superior Court Judge Helen Bendix agrees with the actress Thursday and denies Hydroderm early access to Hatcher's business records.

Hydroderm seeks $2.8 million for the suit, $2.4 million is for reimbursement of the endorsement deal, plus $406,952 for expenses of the contract. The suit claims that Hatcher lent her name to at least 17 other beauty-care products while under contract with the company.

"Hatcher's name, image and likeness have been linked to so many competitors' products (at least 17!) that it is anyone's guess as to what product keeps her skin and lips youthful," the lawsuit states.

The 42-year-old actress disputes that Hydroderm has recently gone through 2 ownership and management changes and "Failed to move the endorsement program forward due to its own corporate paralysis."
