"Dancing With the Stars" Dancer Derek Hough Hospitalized With Neck Injury

"Dancing With the Stars" professional dancer Derek Hough was hospitalized Tuesday with a neck injury suffered during a rehearsal. The dancer is paired this season with Shannon Elizabeth. The dancer, who is the brother of fellow "Dancing With the Stars" dancer Julianne Hough, was taken to a L.A. hospital for examination.

Derek was examined and kept for observation and later released, an ABC spokesperson said. They added that the injury did not appear to be serious.

"Dancing With the Stars" was plagued with mishaps last season, including Maria Osmond fainting on stage and Jane Seymour's mother passed away.

Last season Derek was partnered with actress Jenny Garth, who tripped an fell while dancing on the live television reality show.
