Before "Twilight" was a multi-million selling book franchise, author Stephenie Meyer would head to her MySpace to communicate with fans via the social networking site. But Meyer says she won't be using it, or any social networking site, anymore.
The author announced on her official website that she would no longer be using her MySpace to talk to fans. Previously on her MySpace page, she would clear up any news and rumors about the books and involve herself in discussions about the novels. Now she says she'll only be able to communicate with fans via her official website.
"It was a lot of fun while it lasted, and I really miss the early days when I could hang out with people online," Meyer said on her website. "Many of you are hilarious and insightful, and I wish it was easier for me to talk to everyone the way I used to."
She also warned fans about the possibility of online impostors. "With MySpace no longer in existence, I can now clearly state that...there is no other outlet where I communicate with people online," she continued. "I do not have a Facebook page, and I have never had one. I don't do Twitter. So if you're communicating with someone online that you think is me, it's not."
