Cate Blanchett Rumored To Replace Sienna Miller In Film

February 10, 2009

Cate Blanchett is rumored to replace Sienna Miller in "Nottingham." The "I'm Not There" actress is expected to take on the role of Maid Marian in the heavily-delayed film which takes an alternative look at folk hero Robin Hood.

Actor Mark Strong, who is believed to be playing one of the chief villains in the film -Sir Guy of Gisbourne - said: "I think Cate Blanchett is set to take the Maid Marian part. She is a wonderful actress and it would make it a much classier film if she was in it."

Sienna, 27, was confirmed to have left the project in January, amidst rumors her character would have shown up leading man Russell Crowe, because she was too thin and youthful for the role.

The "Gladiator" star is playing both the outlaw Robin Hood and his nemesis The Sheriff of Nottingham in the movie, with the story centering on a love triangle between Russell's characters and Maid Marian.

The production is scheduled to begin shooting next month.
