Jennifer Hudson Slept In Her Mother's Bed As A Teen

Jennifer Hudson used to sleep in her mother's bed until she was 15. The Oscar-winning actress - who was left devastated when her beloved mom Darnell Donerson was murdered last November along with Jennifer's brother and nephew - shared a close relationship with Darnell and spent as much time with her as possible.

She said: "I was always a mama's baby. I'd go and sleep in her bed until I was 15 years old."

Jennifer - whose estranged brother-in-law is awaiting formal charges of the three murders - says her faith has helped get her through the worst period in her life.

She added to Essence magazine: "The thing that keeps me going is knowing that God is in control. It's like, if he placed me here then I must be prepared."

Despite the tragedy, Jennifer is now looking forward to sharing her life with fiance David Otunga, who proposed on her birthday last September.

The "Dreamgirls" star - who recently returned David's proposal by presenting him with a five-carat custom-made engagement ring - said: "He is such a gentlemen. I sit in the car waiting because I can't touch the door. I am not allowed!"
