Jo Dee Messina And Husband Are Parents Of A Bouncing Baby Boy

January 20, 2009

Jo Dee Messina will soon be singing sweet lullabies to her new son. The country singer and her husband, Chris Deffenbaugh welcomed their first child at a Nashville-area hospital on Monday at 1:01 p.m. Baby Noah Roger weighed in at 6 pounds, 15 ounces.

Messina, who wed Deffenbaugh in October 2007, told People.com that the pregnancy was a welcome surprise. At home is a handmade crib and changing table built by Noah's woodworker dad, awaiting his arrival. Deffenbaugh owns Deffenblaster Enterprises which builds custom road cases.

The singer said she plans to take her new son along when she begins her solo tour in April to promote her upcoming album. Messina says she may ask for advice from Sara Evans or Martina McBride on traveling with the infant.
