Ludacris Gives Away 20 Used Cars To Atlanta Residents

September 8, 2009 08:47 am CDT

Rapper Ludacris has awarded 20 vehicles to Atlanta residents who are most in need. The philanthropic artist/actor awarded the cars to the contest winners of his own stimulus package.

Last month, the 31-year-old Grammy winner announced that he, along with his Ludacris Foundation and Nissan South, is giving away 20 used vehicles to deserving Metro Atlanta area residents during his annual LudaDay weekend.

The vehicles were cleaned and have passed emissions and Georgia State safety requirements.

Interested residents who do not have a car applied before the September 3 deadline. They were asked to write a one-page essay on why they deserve the car.

The lucky winners were named at the "The LudaDay Giveaway" on Sunday, each getting one used vehicle with free gas for 30 days.

According to the foundation's president, Roberta Shields, the vehicles are their help to the residents in these tough economic times.
