Mariah Carey wants to have a wedding every year. The 38-year-old singer - who wed 28-year-old Nick Cannon last April - is planning a lavish ceremony for their first anniversary, and one every year after that.

She said: "When we got married I was getting loads of calls from people asking, 'Is it a rumor? Is it true?' People were a little shocked but they were all very happy for us. We'll definitely get them involved in another celebration, though."

"We've been talking about doing a bigger wedding on our first anniversary. And maybe another one every year."

Only eight people attended Mariah and Nick's low-key ceremony in the Bahamas, and the singer - known for her love of luxury and excess - insists it was perfect.

Mariah - who was previously married to record executive Tommy Mottola - added to Britain's Hello! magazine: "I wanted the opposite of what I did the first time. Nick and I wanted it to be about us, no fuss, no worrying about everyone else's opinions. I can honestly say that my wedding to Nick was the most beautiful day of my life. For once it wasn't all about the hoopla."
