Matthew McConaughey Encourages Two-Month-Old Son To Get Used To Water

September 26, 2008

Matthew McConaughey's two-month-old son "loves the shower." The "Fool's Gold" actor is so determined to ensure Levi, his first child with girlfriend Camila Alves, follows in his footsteps as a keen surfer that he is encouraging him to get used to water.

He told website Foxnews.com: "My son loves the shower. We've been to the beach a few times, but he's already spent a good nine months in 'the water' so he's comfortable."

Camila recently revealed she is planning to enroll Levi in surfing lessons soon, adding: "Levi is going to have his first surf lesson when he can start walking!"

Matthew - who recently competed in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon alongside Jennifer Lopez - is a keen athlete but reportedly became obsessed with sports after watching the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics.

A source close to the "Surfer Dude" star said: "One minute he wanted to host a swimming competition at his house. Next thing he was talking about running marathons."
