Shania Twain tells fans she's fine after nasty spill at CMT Music Awards

Nashville, Tenn., United States (Celebrity News Service) - Shania Twain says she has a "bit of a sore thumb" after taking a nasty spill while making her way to the stage at the 2011 CMT Music Awards.

The 45-year-old singer, who attended the show in Nashville on Wednesday for the first time in seven years, released a video through her Twitter account to address the fall, reports Zap2It.

"I have to get this adrenaline out because I made a complete fool of myself," she said in the video, while sitting in a hotel room. "I realized I don't need a stunt double since I do my own stunts in the 'Thelma and Louise' video clip and I didn't need a stunt double to wipe out on my way to the stage to present."

The singer was referring to a parody of "Thelma & Louise" with singer Taylor Swift in a pre-taped opening for the show.

Then right before Twain was about present the award for Male Video of the Year, she slipped in her high heels but quickly recovered and laughed it off.

"I didn't hurt myself but I have a bit of a sore thumb - that's about it," she told fans.

According to reports, CMT Award producers said they edited out her stumble from a subsequent repeat of the show to avoid further embarrassing the star.

Before signing off in the video, Twain said she didn't know what she was going to do with the shoes she wore.

"I'm going to auction off those shoes and get rid of them as soon as I can! I never want to see those shoes again," she joked. "Or maybe I'll keep them as a souvenir."

Earlier that day, the "Man, I Feel Like A Woman" singer held a press conference to announce she was starting a two-year residency at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas next year.
