Paris Hilton Hits Miami For Court, Not Clubs

July 9, 2009

Paris Hilton usually hits Miami in style. She's even staying in the trendy new Fountainebleau Resort. But instead of club appearances this trip, she'll be making court appearances.

Hilton had to take time out from filming the last "My New BFF" series in Dubai for a federal court trial in Miami. She's being sued by the producers of her direct-to-video movie "Pledge This" for failing to promote it, although Hilton says she did promote to the best of her ability.

The 28-year-old had top billing in the movie, a 2006 comedy about a fictional Miami sorority striving to be "America's Hottest Sorority." She was paid $1 million for her role.

The now-defunct Miami entertainment company which produced the film are seeking $8 million from the star. The film only earned about $2.9 million worldwide.

Hilton, who hasn't been seen out since her arrival in Miami, was already photographed arriving at the courthouse in a black and white dress on Thursday. She is expected to testify in court on Friday.
