Prince William To Marry Kate Middleton When He Turns 30

September 21, 2009

Britain's Prince William will wed Kate Middleton when he turns 30. The future king will finally tie the knot with his long-term beau in June 2012 after telling Kate he wanted to focus on his duties with the RAF before he fully committed to her.

Singer Jules Knight - who went to Scotland's St Andrew's University with the couple - said: "They've decided not to marry just yet. William wants to wait until he is 30 and Kate is fine with that."

William and Kate - who have been dating for six years, although they did briefly split for four months - recently holidayed in the exclusive resort of Mustique and speculation was rife the couple were going to announce their engagement.

However, William wants to concentrate on training to be an RAF search-and-rescue pilot and knows if he announces an engagement the media interest will be almost unbearable.

A source added to Britain's People newspaper: "He is very career minded and wants to get as high up as he can in the force. Kate knows he loves her and wants to marry her but also understands what it means to be the girlfriend of the future king."
