Rapper Nas Denies Kelis' Claims That He Is Worth $11 Million

Nas insists he doesn't have as much money as Kelis has claimed. The rapper is furious with his estranged wife - who is pregnant with the couple's first child - after she filed expenses records with a Los Angeles court to get support from Nas and alleged his last record deal was worth $11 million.

So he has now filed papers of his own, in which he claims: "I did not receive even half that amount."

He added the fee was closer to $4 million and his earnings are dwindling all the time.

On average, Nas claims he is making $147,165 a month, but $70,000 of that is used to pay monthly bills, including $10,000 for clothing and hair maintenance.

Kelis - whose son is due on July 21 - had asked her estranged husband for $20,000 towards the cost of "purchasing strollers, cribs and other baby supplies" for their two homes.

She is also seeking additional funds to pay for a baby nurse, nanny and other staff.

However, Nas - who wants to be "fully involved" in the upbringing of their child - thinks $5,000-a-month for a newborn baby is adequate and has already agreed to pay $350 for a stroller, $450 for a baby sling and $1,598 for two cribs.

Kelis and Nas met at an after-party hosted by P. Diddy for the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards.

They got engaged a year later and married in Atlanta in 2005. Kelis announced she was filing for divorce in April.
