Shia LaBeouf Bullied For Being A Disney Star When He Was Young

June 18, 2009

Shia LaBeouf was bullied for being a Disney Channel star. The "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" actor - who rose to fame when he appeared in several children's TV shows - was teased by his peers for finding fame so young.

He said: "The Los Angeles that I and all my friends come from is totally different to the one you see on comedy show 'Entourage'. To go back to my Los Angeles and say, 'Yeah, man, I'm working on the Disney Channel.' Well, that's not something you wanted to blurt out immediately."

"Now, you could go back to that crowd and say, 'I'm making 8,000 bucks a week - legally!' And they'd say, 'Wow, how you doing that?' So you tell them, 'Disney Channel' - and the s**t starts again!"

The 22-year-old hunk - whose father was an alcoholic drug dealer - finds it "outrageous" he was tormented for being successful rather than his troubled upbringing.

He explained to Britain's Guardian newspaper: "The fact that I was on the Disney Channel versus the fact that my dad was a drug dealer is, like, just outrageous to me. But life is funny that way."

"I feel blessed. I'm an actor for hire, man. I couldn't be happier it's worked out this way, because that's a great job."
