Teri Hatcher Hosts Own Garage Sale For Charities

September 28, 2009

"Desperate Housewives" star Teri Hatcher was desperate to get rid of her junk. The Golden Globe Award winner hosted her first garage sale at her home to benefit several charities on Saturday.

According to People magazine, the 44-year-old actress required invited guests to fork up $50 to enter her home in Studio City and browse through her old stuff, which include Coach purses, Disney hotel packages, toys, and never-worn clothes.

Also in the sale were the boots signed by her co-star Eva Longoria Parker.

Guests, including Camryn Manheim and Jane Lynch, were treated to food and drinks from Coral Gables, Florida-based Buttercream Cupcakes & Coffee.

Hatcher credits her 12-year-old daughter in coming up with the idea of the Hollywood-style garage. They raised $20,000 from the sale.

Proceeds will benefit Aviva Family and Children's Services, Westside Food bank, and Casa Pacifica Centers for Children and Families.
