The Obamas' Long-Awaited Dog Coming To The White House

April 13, 2009

Malia and Sasha's dad has made good on his promise to give them a dog. The latest addition to President Barack Obama's family will be gracing the White House on Tuesday.

Bo Obama, a six-month-old Portuguese water god, was given by Senator Ted Kennedy to the Barack household. He came from a Texas kennel, where the senator also got his 3 dogs in the past.

According to TMZ, the pooch was originally called Charlie, but the Obamas wanted to rename him after Bo Diddley. He was first sold to a private owner, but was returned. He is now going to be "re-homed" the the White House from the kennel.

The celebrity website reiterated the importance that Bo is not a gift, but rather, he was just re-homed by the kennel and the Kennedy family only facilitated the transfer.
