Los Angeles, CA, United States (Celebrity News Service) - After just five months together, Demi Lovato has called it quits on her relationship with Wilmer Valderrama.

The 18-year-old Disney star split from the 31-year-old "That 70s show" actor because their 13-year age gap meant they were "in completely different places in their lives," reports the New York Post.

The "Sonny With a Chance" star and singer, whose new album is out in the fall, dated Valderrama before and after completing her treatment in late January, and were spotted in February on a movie date and shopping for food.

But a source told the newspaper: "The age difference meant they were in completely different places in their lives."

Lovato admitted herself to an Illinois clinic last November for treatment for emotional and physical issues, where she later revealed she discovered she suffered from bipolar disorder.

However, this isn't the only issue Lovato has had to deal with--her mother Dianna Hart de la Garza, who was a constant support during her stay in rehab, has reportedly decided to enter rehab for her own issues at an undisclosed location.

"It has been a tough year for Demi, and her mom has been a constant source of support. But fame has also taken its toll on her family," the source said. "Now that Demi is strong again, her mom could take some time to deal with her own issues."
