Synopsis of Blind Date
Blind Date is a 2008 drama from director Stanley Tucci. This is Tucci's fourth directorial feature, who also stars and co-wrote the screenplay with David Schechter. The film premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. The film is a remake of the 1996 film of the same name by the late film director Theo van Gogh, who was murdered by a religious fundamentalist angered by the portrayal of Islam in one of Van Gogh's short films.

An English-language remake of Theo Van Gogh’s award winning 1996 Dutch film, BLIND DATE is the story of an estranged couple (Stanley Tucci, starring and directing, and Patricia Clarkson) who are desperately trying to reconcile after the tragic death of their daughter. Unable to face either their grief or each other, they go a series of “blind dates”, each placing personal ads in the paper and pretending to be strangers when they meet.
