Things looked bleak for Ron Howard, Brian Grazer and Akiva Goldsman's attempt to bring Stephen King's epic Dark Tower series to both cinema and TV screens when Universal decided to pass on the idea last July. But the power trio swore they would find a way to realise their grand plan and it looks like they might just have a champion riding in, with Warner Bros. now in talks to make at least one film.
According to Deadline, the studio bought Goldsman's script for the first movie and has asked him to take another pass on it. Howard is still on board to direct and, assuming he still wants to be involved and is available whenever shooting starts (possibly early next year) Javier Bardem remains the director's first choice for gunslinger Roland Deschain.
It seems a little odd that Howard and co would agree to just one film after that was one of the main sticking points with Universal. But it might just come down to Warners offering the best shot to get it made. The project is already a gamble, without the added pressure of trying to birth a trilogy at once.

Robert Pattinson's period drama "Bel Ami" has finally found a major studio that would distribute it in theaters across the U.S. On Monday, March 12, The Wagner/Cuban Company's Magnolia Pictures announced that it has obtained the distribution rights to the film and has targeted a June 8 theatrical release nationwide.
Magnolia bought the film after it was premiered at the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival last February. Of the distribution agreement, the studio's president Eamonn Bowles said, " 'Bel Ami' is a well-crafted, appealing film with a terrific ensemble cast. We think it's a great fit for our Ultra VOD program."
In this sexy retelling of Guy de Maupassant's classic tale of blackmail, manipulation, and social-climbing that is set against 19th century Paris, Pattinson stars as the young and very ambitious George Duroy. He discovers that his unadulterated passion and seduction skills with influential Parisian ladies is the fastest and most effective way to the upper echelons of the society he so desperately wants to control.

Lionsgate Films has debuted a new trailer for "What to Expect When You're Expecting". While the first trailer focuses on the perspective of the female gang, this promo video is more guy-centric because it highlights the "dudes group", which is made up of fathers who tackle their babysitting duties.
The sneak peek sees Thomas Lennon, Chris Rock, Ben Falcone and Amir Talai walking their babies at a park while teaching their newest member, portrayed by Rodrigo Santoro, the rules of becoming one of them. "Rule number one; 'Don't talk about what we walk about'," so one of them says. Another one adds, "Rule number two; 'We don't judge'."
Inspired by the perennial New York Times bestseller of the same name, "What to Expect When You're Expecting" follows five couples whose intertwined lives are turned upside down by the challenges of impending parenthood.

However, Dr. Sinja is on to him, and Jack's life comes unglued after a magical Bodhi tree mysteriously appears in his backyard.
With every word Jack speaks, a leaf falls from the tree and he realizes that when the last leaf falls, both he and the tree are toast. While words have never failed Jack, he now has got to stop talking and conjure up some outrageous ways to communicate or he's a goner.
