Ryan Gosling is swapping acting for music and will release his debut album on October 6.

The "Notebook" actor's band Dead Man's Bones - which he is in with friend Zach Shields - have spent two years working on the record, which is to be released on Anti Records.

The album features a children's choir called the Silverlake Conservatory Children's Choir, which is comprised of kids aged five to 17.

Ryan has previously said of the project: "You know when you're a kid and you get crayons and papers and just draw whatever you want and it's just a bunch of messy lines, but to you it makes sense, and then they put it on the fridge?"

Edward Furlong's wife has filed for divorce. The "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" actor's spouse Rachael Bella cited irreconcilable differences in her filing at Los Angeles Superior Court earlier this week.

Michael Jackson's former doctor has denied he is the father of the late singer's two oldest children - as far as he knows.

Dr. Arnold Klein - whose former assistant Debbie Rowe was married to Michael for three years and is the mother of Prince Michael, 12, and 11-year-old Paris - refused to give a definite answer about the paternity of the kids when quizzed.

Klein, who was Michael's dermatologist for 20 years, told TV show 'Good Morning America': "I can't say anything about it, but to the best of my knowledge, I am not the father of these children."

"I can't answer it in any other way. I don't want to feed any of this insanity that's going around."

Michael Jackson will perform from beyond the grave in London next month. The late singer's "This Is It" show is being planned to take place at The O2 arena - where the "Smooth Criminal" singer had sold-out a 50-night residency - on August 29, the day of Michael's 51st birthday.

A life-like hologram of the "King of Pop" will be projected on stage and perform parts of his planned set to fans accompanied by the backing dancers he had been rehearsing with before his death last month.

It is also believed the pop star's children - Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11 and seven-year-old Prince Michael II, also known as "Blanket" - will take to the stage for the grand finale with Michael's brothers and sisters, like they did at his Los Angeles memorial on Tuesday.

"Britain's Got Talent" singer Shaheen Jafargholi - who performed "Who's Lovin' You?" at the ceremony - has reportedly been approached about singing a Jackson 5 medley, taking on the vocals Michael performed as a youngster for the planned show.

Katie Price wants her estranged husband Peter Andre to find love again. The TV star is happy to see her estranged husband moving on with his life and has no problem if he decides to turn his blossoming friendship with British glamour model Chantelle Houghton into a romance.

One week before its release and it looks like the boy wizard can beat out the robots. "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" is outpacing advance ticket sales for "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" in the same time period.

Online ticket merchant Fandango and the Hollywood Reporter are reporting that the latest entry in the Potter series is accounting for 65% of its daily ticket sales. But will it be enough to beat "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen"?

The "Transformers" sequel surpassed 0 million at the U.S. box office on Tuesday, after just fourteen days in release. 2007's "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" took in 2 million during its entire run.

But if the reviews have anything to do with it, "Harry Potter" is spellbinding some critics, with Variety's review calling it "dazzlingly well made" and Hollywood.com's Paul Dergarabedian thinking Oscars. "I was blown away like a Quidditch player on a supercharged broomstick," said Dergarabedian. "Not only that, halfway through, I'm thinking the unthinkable: Ten academy awards are available this year... hmm, I wonder."

U.K.'s annual FrightFest has announced its film line-up for this year. The film festival, which focuses on the horror and fantasy genre, will be held from August 27 to 31st.

Now in its tenth year, FrightFest is also announcing their special seminar, "The Horror of Writing," which is open to budding screenwriters to give them an opportunity to get involved in writing a screenplay and seeing their project go into production development.

Director Philip Ridley will be at the event to introduce the cast and crew from his "Heartless" project at the world premiere screening.

FrightFest '09 will be held at The Empire Cinema at Leicester Square in London from August 27 to August 31.

The most famous lifeguards on earth are coming to the big screen. "Baywatch," the '90s TV series that made Pamela Anderson and others a household name, is being developed into a film.

Variety reports that Paramount Pictures has set Jeremy Garelick to rewrite and direct the project into a comedy film feature based on the Californian lifeguards on TV.

Several years ago, DreamWorks have projected the film as a semi-serious action movie, but it was never realized.

Now, Garelick, the uncredited rewriter of "The Hangover," has rewritten the film as a comedy. It will also mark his directing debut.

Sacha Baron Cohen's film "Bruno" has been blasted by a top Austrian envoy. Emil Brix - who has been named ambassador to Britain - has called for a boycott because of the "cheap" jokes in the controversial film, which follows Cohen as the eponymous gay Austrian fashionista trying to become a celebrity in the U.S.

During the film, Bruno jokes he wants to become the most famous Austrian "since Hitler" and pokes fun at Josef Fritzl - who repeatedly raped his daughter who he kept a prisoner for 24 years in his cellar.

Brix - who takes up his post next year- said: "It's totally inappropriate. Everybody should speak up against that."

He also thought Austrians would snub "Bruno", adding: "The public will know how to react to this film."

MacGruber is heading to the big screen. The "Saturday Night Live" infamous character, played by regular cast member Will Forte, will be making its transition to the theaters.

MacGruber is a play on Richard Dean Anderson's iconic TV character, MacGyver, that appears on a sketch on the show. Forte, who writes the shorts with John Solomon and Jorma Taccone, stars as the titular character.

"SNL" cast Kristen Wiig will reprise her role as Vicki, who was first played by Maya Rudolph. Val Kilmer and Ryan Phillippe are both in talks to join the film cast, Variety reports.

"MacGruber" will be distributed by Relativity's Rogue banner and will be produced by "SNL" creator Lorne Michaels along with Ryan Kavanaugh and John Goldwyn.

A "Harry Potter" actor has been charged with producing class B drugs. Jamie Waylett, who plays Hogwarts bully Vincent Crabbe in the film franchise, allegedly grew 10 cannabis plants at his home.

The 19-year-old actor was found in possession of cannabis after police stopped him and a friend in a vehicle they were driving. Eight bags of the substance were found on the scene.

His home, which he shares with his mother and siblings, was then raided and police reportedly seized ten cannabis plants.

He will appear with 20-year-old John Innis at the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court on July 16.

"Spider-Man" star Tobey Maguire is set to star in an indie black comedy with "The Uninvited" actress Elizabeth Banks. "The Details" is written and directed by Jacob Estes.

According to Variety, Maguire and Banks will play a married couple who are struggling with infidelity issues. Their lives are further complicated when raccoons burrowed under the sod in their backyard. A disagreement over how to dispatch the raccoons creates chain reaction of mishaps that includes murder.

Also starring are Ray Liotta, Dennis Haysbert, Anna Friel and Laura Linney.

James McAvoy was previously cast as the husband, but a scheduling conflict forced him to back out, making way for Maguire to step in.

Virginia Madsen is going to star alongside Kevin Spacey in the indie comedy "Father of Invention" as his ex-wife.

The story, scripted by Trent Cooper, Jonathan Krane and Nichole Beatty, centers on a humble inventor who becomes an egomaniacal billionaire. He spends eight years in federal prison and loses it all when one of his inventions went wrong. Upon his return, he discovers his ex-wife has spent his fortune and remarried.

Camilla Belle, Heather Graham and Craig Robison are all on board.

Cooper will be directing, while Scott Lumpkin will exec produce. Spacey and Dana Brunetti will produce through their Trigger Streets Productions, according to Variety.

The transforming alien robots have won the tie-breaker against the prehistoric animals. "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" has edged "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" out of the top spot in the weekend box office.

The two films previously tied with .5 million each, according to the estimates provided by their studios estimates. However, "Ice Age 3" came up short of the projection.

The second installment of the "Transformers" franchise has maintained its top spot position for the second week in a row with .3 million, bringing its total gross to 3.4 million.

"Ice Age 3," meanwhile, only finished .7 million, a respectable finish, but not enough for a spot in the top. The 20th Century Fox 3D animated flick has garnered .7 million gross after a five-day run in the theaters.

Cameron Diaz is delighted she has ditched her innocent on screen image.

After Ebert joined the majority of movie critics in giving "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" a bad review, the country's most recognizable film reviewer is fighting back at comments giving Ebert the thumbs down.

Ebert one-star review called the film "a horrible experience of unbearable length, briefly punctuated by three or four amusing moments" with an "incomprehensible" plot. His review earned over 750 comments, some agreeing with him, and others calling him "a stuck up old snob."

Ebert is hitting back at his own critics, such as one comment where one poster argued the "Transformers" sequel is better than "Casablanca." Ebert's advice? Go see more movies. "Those who think "Transformers" is a great or even a good film are, may I tactfully suggest, not sufficiently evolved," Ebert said in a blog posting. "Film by film, I hope they climb a personal ladder into the realm of better films, until their standards improve."

But Ebert says he doesn't care if bad movies break box-office records. "Transformers" has earned nearly 0 since its June 24th release. "It's not a critic's job to reflect box office taste. The job is to describe my reaction to a film, to account for it, and evoke it for others," he said. "I'll hope however that everyone who paid for a ticket thought they had a good time, because it was their time and their money," he said.

"Arrested Development" star Alia Shawkat has been added to the cast line-up of "The Runways," the biopic based on the girl rock band led by Joan Jett.

According to Latino Review, the 20-year-old actress, who played Maeby in the now-defunct TV series, will be playing 18-year-old bass player Robin, the oldest and most feminine of the band. The only catch is, there was never a Robin in the real life Runaways group.

Micki Steele was the original bassist for the band. She was replaced by Peggy Foster, who was eventually replaced by Jackie Fox.

The website speculates that the film failed to secure Steele's permission to use her name and likeness, so the execs decided to create an essence of Steele by creating a fictional proxy, Robin.

Jessica Biel is rumored to be on board the cast of "Thor" as the titular character's love interest.

According to NukeTheFridge.com, the 27-year-old actress will be playing a love interest, although it is still not sure who exactly would she be portraying.

It is possible that she is lined up to play Jane Foster, the girlfriend of Thor's alter ego Donald Blake. However, the website's source wasn't sure of the character's name and only believed that it was the same female character from the animated "Hulk vs. Thor."

If that is the case, Biel would be playing either Amora the Enchantress or Sif as, the website pointed out, those characters appeared in the said animated.

Dinosaurs and transforming robots have tied at the box office. The newly released Fox 3D animated film "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" has topped the box office weekend with last week's "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen."

Just like "Transformers 2," the third installment to the "Ice Age" franchise also opened on a Wednesday. It has an overall gross of .5 million, though its three-day weekend total is .5 million.

"Transformers" also got another .5 million added in its overall gross. It was down 61 percent from its ticket sales last week, but even with a great plunge, it still lords over other films.

Johnny Depp and Christian Bale's crime flick "Public Enemies" places third with .2 million during the weekend. Although, like "Ice Age," it also debuted on Wednesday; hence, it already has million overall gross.

Joan Rivers has been tucked, pulled, and now she'll be roasted. Yes, the comedian known for her no-holds-barred comedy will be on the receiving end this time as Comedy Central hosts the "Comedy Central Roast of Joan Rivers." Who else will host but fellow brash female comedian Kathy Griffin?

Griffin will take time out from her heavily watched "D-List" activities to join Rivers as Roast Master. Griffin, as only she could, said that she'll be giving Rivers a "verbal pap smear."

"I will be roasting Joan with more gentleness and tenderness than her latest chemical peel and, on the other hand, I will give her a verbal pap smear and god only knows what I'm going to find down there," Griffin said.

Comedy Central has recently hosted roasts for Bob Saget, William Shatner, and Pamela Anderson. The "Comedy Central Roast of Joan Rivers" will air Sunday, August 9th at 10pm ET/PT.

Wolfgang Puck and Daniel Boulud are among the world-renowned chefs with restaurants in Las Vegas. Now, the sin city is home to the sixth season of Bravo's "Top Chef" where Puck and Boulud will be among the guest star judges.

"Top Chef: Las Vegas" will bring back all the ingredients that made the show an Emmy Award-winning hit, including host Padma Lakshmi. But seeing as its Vegas, the stakes are even higher. The sixth season also features the first pair of siblings competing against each other.

Nickelodeon's "Nick News with Linda Ellerbee" was announced as the first kids' show to win an Edward R. Murrow award for "Best Network News Documentary."

The documentary special was called "Coming Home: When Parents Return from War" and gave viewers the chance to see the lives of children whose parents are dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), physical wounds and some who don't ever return from war.

"We are proud that Nick News has received this top honor that recognizes journalistic excellence," said Cyma Zarghami, President, Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group in a press release. "Nick News and Linda Ellerbee's commitment over the years has provided kids with educational and relevant stories that allow them to speak their minds on important issues."

The award is given by the Radio-Television News Directors Association and will be presented at the RTNDA Awards Dinner in New York on October 12, 2009.

Wet Willies is marking the bar's first Broward location with a grand opening celebration and ceremonial guitar smash by comedian Jamie Kennedy. The new location will be at The Improv Comedy Club at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

The smash will happen at 9:45 pm on July 10 at the new daiquiri bar. Kennedy, known for his reality show "The Jamie Kennedy Experiment" and role on "Ghost Whisperer," will also be performing his stand up show at the Improv at 8:00 pm on July 10 and later that night at 10:30 pm. He will also have two shows on Saturday, July 11 at 7:00 pm and 9:15 pm.

The new Wet Willies will offer up to 20 varieties of exotic frozen cocktails that offer names such as Attitude Improvement, Call a Cab, Monkey Shine, Shock Treatment and Wet Willie. Casual bar fare such as wings, sandwich platters and burgers are also on the menu.

The Sci Fi channel is going through a rebranding and that includes the name.

The new spelling Syfy will also include NBC Universal's attempt at broadening the network's programming to a genre other than just science fiction.

On Tuesday, the Syfy Imagination Park in Rockefeller Center opened. The park includes free "Wyfy" (Wi-Fi) and gives visitors the chance to see the new Syfy film "House of Imagination." The outdoor space will be open until July 12.

Several Syfy actors were on hand for the opening including Joe Morton ("Eureka"), Josh Gates ("Destination Truth") and Eddie McClintock and Joanne Kelly who star in "Warehouse 13."

Heather Mills is finally getting some good press. Mills, the ex-wife of Paul McCartney and British model, recently launched a vegan café in the United Kingdom and the Hindu community is applauding it.

Now Hindus are speaking up and asking celebrities to promote vegetarianism. Acclaimed Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada today, said "More world celebrities should come forward to promote vegetarianism and persuade their fans to go vegetarian, thus contributing to a healthier world."

He went on to say that besides reducing greenhouse gas emissions, it was good for ethical and health reasons also.

Mills' café called Vbites opened up in Hove Lagoon in East Sussex on July 4. The menu includes "meatless meats" and vegan treats from all around the world. Mills has been an active vegan and activist for animals and recently launched a "Meat-Free" Monday movement.

According to publisher Doubleday, fans of the book series can follow a viral game of the book, which encourages readers to break codes leading to the book.

It is believed that the plot would focus on freemasonry and its history in the U.S., but no official confirmation has been made so far.

Wet Willies is marking the bar's first Broward location with a grand opening celebration and ceremonial guitar smash by comedian Jamie Kennedy. The new location will be at The Improv Comedy Club at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

The smash will happen at 9:45 pm on July 10 at the new daiquiri bar. Kennedy, known for his reality show "The Jamie Kennedy Experiment" and role on "Ghost Whisperer," will also be performing his stand up show at the Improv at 8:00 pm on July 10 and later that night at 10:30 pm. He will also have two shows on Saturday, July 11 at 7:00 pm and 9:15 pm.

The new Wet Willies will offer up to 20 varieties of exotic frozen cocktails that offer names such as Attitude Improvement, Call a Cab, Monkey Shine, Shock Treatment and Wet Willie. Casual bar fare such as wings, sandwich platters and burgers are also on the menu.

A bevy of bestselling authors will be on hand to make presentations at the ninth annual 2009 National Book Festival in Washington, D.C. The popular event will be held on Saturday, September 26 at the National Mall.

Bestselling authors David Baldacci, John Grisham, John Irving, Julia Alvarez, Judy Blume, Ken Burns, Gwen Ifill and Jodi Picoult will all be attending the festival. Celebrity chef Paula Deen will also be there to present.

The event is organized and sponsored by the Library of Congress, with President Barack Obama and first Lady Michelle Obama acting as Honorary Chairs. Last year, the festival had over 120,000 people attend and is free and open to the public.

"This promises to be one of our most exciting author lineups ever," said Librarian of Congress James H. Billington in a press release. "This year's National Book Festival truly offers something for everyone, with books by popular and award-winning authors in many genres and for all age groups."

Britney Spears' critics have been silenced after an unairbrushed photo of the pop princess on her Candie's ad was released.

The 27-year-old "Circus" star sparked online debate and outrage in some groups when her promo ads for the apparel brand surfaced.

On the photo, Spears posed while reclining on pink stack of hays and looking perfectly polished. Critics said that she was "unrecognizable" after heavy photoshop alterations were done.

Some parents were furious, claiming the ads are giving teens an unrealistic perception of beauty.

Lindsay Lohan is being sued by a woman in Tampa, Florida claiming the actress stole her formula and complete idea for "Sevin Nyne," a spray tan that just recently hit the market.

The St. Petersburg Times claims that chemist Jennifer Sunday has filed a lawsuit against Lohan and business partner Lorit Simon. Sunday says she was working on the spray tan with Simon back in January but had a disagreement on pricing. Lohan has claimed that she spent the last three years working on the product, but Sunday said the ingredients were only recently completed.

The new product uses the exact same formula and she wants a cut of the profits. Sunday is suing in Tampa Federal court for breach of contract, theft of trade secrets, civil conspiracy, intentional interference with contractual relations and deceptive and unfair trade practices.

Miley Cyrus announced last month that she would be teaming up with Max Azria for an affordable fashion line. Now, the teen star is talking about the new line while she poses for the August cover of Elle.

"The jeans are my favorite part of the entire line," Cyrus says in the interview. The line, which is expected to hit stores in time for back-to-school shopping, includes everything from graphic tees to knit tops and pants, as well as accessories. They're all expected to be priced under .

"Like, literally this is going to be good for, like, Middle America, and it will be great for kids that really want to be in fashion but that don't have it available," Cyrus said.

The line is expected to hit Wal-Mart stores later in the summer. Britney Spears has been trying to clean up her image for awhile now and it seems her campaign with Candie's last year actually helped. Iconix, the owner of Candie's announced that the partnership will continue, with Spears taking on the fall 2009 campaign.

Spears will continue to be the face of Candie's fall 2009 television, print, online and in-store advertising campaign. Spears' new video "Radar" features the pop starlet in Candie's attire and some of the footage from the video will be used for upcoming commercials.

Kohl's Department stores will continue to carry the line of apparel, footwear, jewelry and accessories. The store intends to heavily incorporate the campaign into the 2009 advertising plan, using the Candie's promotions for national broadcast, outdoor billboards, circulars, in-store graphics, online, direct mail and email blasts.

It seems everyone these days wants to try their hand at fashion and metal Gods Rob Halford of Judas Priest and Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead are no different. Both have announced they will be designing their own fashion lines with different clothing companies.

Motorhead's collection will be produced by Hurley and will include pieces such as hoodies, jeans, T-shirts and hats. The designs will have the Motorhead logo, along with some of the band's favorite quotes.

Fans can expect to see graphics such as guitars and ace of spades on vintage style to have an old-school motorcycle look. So far, the exact launch date for the collection has not been released.

Halford has created the clothing line Metal God Apparel and features bold colorful shirts that have names such as Savior, Pray For Rock N Roll, Steel Wings, Divinity, and Eternal Chaos. The line was scheduled to launch in late spring, but delays will put the line out for shipping on July 6.

But now the rock band best known for filling arenas with massive sing-alongs are doing just that, with stops from Red Rocks to the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, FL on their upcoming summer tour.

The tour celebrates the release of "Revelation," the band's 14th studio album and first with singer Arnel Pineda, added to the lineup in 2008. The set also included a live DVD featuring Pineda. A second concert was filmed and is slated for release at the end of the year.

Along with some new material, the band promises their hits as well, with a set list filled with the eighteen Top 40 singles the band has achieved through the years.

The tour kicks off July 16th in Walker, MN at the Moondance Jam and will wrap up September 30th in Oklahoma City.

While this week's Billboard chart might reflect the latest "Now" compilation as being #1, the actual biggest selling album of the week is "Number Ones," Michael Jackson's hits compilation featuring "Thriller," "Beat It," and "Black or White."

He will however, top the Top Pop Catalog Albums Chart and the Top Comprehensive Albums List, since Billboard's rule is that albums over 18 months old and have dropped below the #100 spot can't chart on the regular albums chart.

Jackson's "Number Ones" sold 339,000 copies this week. That's 170,000 copies more than the charting #1, "Now 31," which sold 169,000 copies. Jackson's "Thriller" album also outsold the compilation, with 187,000 albums sold. Jackson is expected to hold all top 10 slots of the Top Pop Catalog Albums chart.

Jackson's combined total for albums sold this week: a whopping 800,000 copies. In two weeks, he's sold over 1.2 million albums and millions of digital song downloads. Jackson holds five of the top 10 slots of Billboard's Hot Digital Songs chart, with "Man in the Mirror" as his biggest seller.

The mystery singer on Michael Jackson's memorial service has been identified.

A woman led a group of children in singing the King of Pop's hit "Heal the World" during the last performance of the service had been unknown to the audience... until now.

Rolling Stone has identified the woman as Judith Hill, a California-based vocalist recruited to be one of the music legend's backup singers for his abandoned "This Is It!" shows in London.

She led the other singers in singing "We Are the World' at the ceremony and had led the children's voices in "Heal the World."

Nine Inch Nails have announced their final tour dates ever. Frontman Trent Reznor posted a message on their official website, saying they will be playing a series of live shows later this year.

According to the message, the band will be playing a "handful of shows" in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles starting August 22. No specific details were given, only that the gigs will have informal affairs in medium to small venues with "longer set-lists, possible special guests, cool openers and other surprises."

In New York, NIN will be at the Bowery Ballroom, Webster Hall and Terminal 5. In Chicago, they will be at the Aragon Ballroom, and in L.A., they will be at The Wiltern, The Henry Fonda, The Palladium, and The Echoplex.

Reznor also said that The Horrors will be joining them for some shows in New York, and Mew will be with them at other shows in NYC, Chicago and L.A.

U2's 360 Tour has environmental campaigners questioning their global commitment. The shows are apparently going to leave behind a massive carbon footprint.

The Irish group's world tour, which could potentially consist of a hundred shows in 18 months, will see them travel a lot in their private jet, not to mention putting their 200 entourage in a 70,000 air miles travel.

Their 0 million tour also features three 390-ton stages that need to be traveled across the globe with them.

Carbonfootprint.com's environmental consultant Helen Roberts told the Belfast Telegraph, "The carbon footprint generated by U2's 44 concerts this year is equal to carbon created by the four band members traveling the 34.125 million miles from Earth to Mars in a passenger plane."
