Katherine Heigl Confirms She's Leaving "Grey's Anatomy"

Katherine Heigl has finally officially confirmed what we all have pretty much known for weeks, that she is leaving her role as Izzie Stevens in "Grey's Anatomy." Heigl claims that she's leaving the show to concentrate on her newly adopted daughter, Naleigh.

Heigl has had a troubled past with the show, infuriating producers and writers in 2008 when she refused to enter her name for an Emmy because she said that the material she was given was not good enough. Rumors began to fly that Heigl wanted out of her contract and the rumors have continued since.

The actress appeared last on the show in January and has since been on a break. She has appeared in several films outside of the show, including "The Ugly Truth" in 2009 and have several projects in the works.

Heigl told Entertainment Weekly, "I am done. We just finalized our agreement. Everyone had been working really hard to find an amicable and gracious way of letting go and moving on. It's sad but it's what I wanted. I know I'm disappointing the fans. I just had to make a choice. I hope I made the right one."
